Kelli Stevens - Corporate Communications
Kelli Stevens has taken over for Kyle Happy on the Sullivan Field Notes blog. Kyle has embarked on a new opportunity at Suncor Energy as a result of the merger between Petro-Canada and Suncor.
Kelli hails from a small town in northern Alberta but has lived in Calgary for about a decade. No matter where she hangs her hat, she has always tried to make the most of her outdoor surroundings – horseback riding, hiking, skiing, etc.
A few readers may recognize Kelli’s name from the time she spent blogging on PumpTalk.ca, Petro-Canada's blog about gas prices and fuel efficiency. Kelli's experience also includes working in Petro-Canada’s oil sands group; consequently, she’s no stranger to mixed viewpoints about Alberta’s energy industry.
In taking the reins of Sullivan Field Notes, Kelli agrees with Kyle that the issues being discussed here are usually not black and white and hopes this blog can continue to share views about the Sullivan Gas Development through the remainder of the regulatory decision process.
Kyle Happy - Corporate Communications
As an employee of Suncor Energy, Kyle Happy has been involved in a number of diverse projects; however, few have been as complex as the Sullivan Gas Development. What’s been clear from the onset is the passion that people have for the area where the proposed development is planned and the value it holds for Alberta’s heritage. For many, it is Alberta's natural playground.
The challenge Kyle's found is that the issues being discussed are not often black and white. For example, just because a company supports development doesn’t mean that it's against the environment. In working closely with the team developing the Sullivan project at least one thing’s become clear to Kyle – we’re all people who have families and enjoy spending time in Alberta’s natural playground.
We may not always agree, but what we do have in common is a commitment to do the right thing. Kyle hopes that Sullivan Field Notes allows both sides of the discussion to be heard.
